5 December 2023
Our teams were in Catcliffe overnight due to the heavy rainfall and snow melt. We also received reports of the road flooding on Orgreave Road. The flooding has been caused by a faulty Yorkshire Water pumping station. Yorkshire Water are currently on site to get this fixed as soon as possible.
Council staff have been on site throughout the night removing water from the road as well as monitoring the river levels. We are continuing to monitor the site throughout the day and evening.
If you are concerned, please call our Customer Service team on 01709 382121.
![open arms header](https://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/fancy_images/UKRMBC/2023/12/8630186/open-arms-header_original.png) We know that times have been hard enough even without the massive impact of the flood.
That’s why we created Open Arms - to help people struggling with the Cost of Living by providing expert support on debt, money management, low-cost loans, energy advice and social inclusion too.
Open Arms is a voluntary sector partnership of Rotherfed, Rotherham Council, Citizens Advice Rotherham & District, LASER Credit Union and Voluntary Action Rotherham – organisations dedicated to supporting the people of Rotherham.
The project is delivered in ten targeted locations across the borough, but we know the situation in Catcliffe is severe and is no short term issue.
We want to extend this support available directly to those affected by the flood and we now have a dedicated email address for Catcliffe residents to use to contact us. Please get in touch by emailing catcliffesupport@rotherfed.org if you need any support or advice about the cost of living crisis.
You can also access advice and support online at www.rotherham.gov.uk/money-matters
