St Marys Church, Greasbrough, held their annual Christmas Fayre last month on Saturday 18 November.
It was another good turn out, and it was nice to see residents supporting community events. It was well supported by Elliott Walker and the Masbrough Choir, who put the piano to good use which the Ward Councillors have contributed some of their Ward Budget to.
Thank you to all those who came along!
Thanks to the children's hard work and dedication over the past year, Rockingham Junior & Infant School has successfully achieved the "Eco Schools Green Flag Award" - only 1 of 7 schools in Rotherham to do so.
The following activities have contributed to the award:
- Litter Picking
- Willow Weaving using the excess Willow from the schools Willow domes to make fencing in the composting area
- Encouraging biodiversity by sowing wildflower areas to encourage butterflies, bees, etc
- Looking after the school chickens and maintaining the pond area
- Growing their own potatoes and taking them home to make a meal
- Growing plants to sell at the Summer Fayre
- Recycling and promoting recycling within school
A huge well done to staff and students!
