While work to develop the markets continues, the outdoor market has temporarily re-located to Effingham Street on the following days:

• Monday – General Market

• Tuesday – Street Market

• Wednesday – Antiques & Bric-A-Brac

• Thursday – Rotherham Bazaar

• Friday – General Market

• Saturday – General Market

Once the works are complete, visitors will benefit from a refurbished indoor and outdoor covered market, extensive public realm, a modern and accessible central library and improved links to the town centre.

The indoor market is open as normal from 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday.

Only 9 days to go until the Christmas Lights' Switch-on event!

The entertainment starts at 3pm with a programme of music in Market Square, including the incredible Sheffield Community Choir, DJ Kavita and authentic eight-piece Ska band The Superskas.

Look out for the Christmas Carriage walkabout show, and Kitsch & Sync Collective return with Oh Deer.

As well as all the entertainment there will be a gift market on Effingham Street, family friendly drop-in activities and workshops around Minster Gardens, and fairground rides in Effingham Square.

Young musicians from across the borough will showcase their talents at the side of the Christmas tree in All Saints’ Square, before the countdown begins to the big switch-on with the Mayor of Rotherham at 6pm.

It's the monthly Yorkshire Crafters & Makers Market on Saturday along Effingham Street, featuring a great mix of handmade gifts and goodies, ideal for Christmas.

Have you got your free tickets for the Museum of the Moon?

Measuring seven metres in diameter, the installation is a fusion of lunar imagery, moonlight and surround sound composition created by BAFTA award-winning composer Dan Jones.

You can visit the Museum of the Moon from 18th to 30th November at Rotherham Minster. Tickets are free but you need to book.
