This summer, a striking new pedestrian bridge was lifted into place at Forge Island, linking the flagship scheme to the town centre.

The Forge Island development is being delivered in partnership by the Council and Muse Places.

The bridge will offer a vital connection from the town centre to the new family-friendly leisure destination – as well as a link to the town’s remarkable engineering heritage.

Watch the video here to see the milestone moment the bridge was lifted into place!

Chapel on the Bridge Open Day

The iconic Chapel on the Bridge will be open this Saturday (16th September) from 10:30 to 13:30.

We highly recommend a visit to see the historic crypt/jail. Books and refreshments will be on sale too and there will also be a display about Thomas Rotherham.

Visit the Friends of Rotherham Chapel on the Bridge Facebook page for more details about this little gem.

A warm welcome to...

Sub Sahara

We're pleased to welcome new business, Sub Sahara African Food to the town centre.

Located at 72 Effingham Street, Sub Sahara have a fresh butchers counter serving traditional food such as Boerewors sausage and meat on the bone. They also stock popular items like Iwisa maize, Biltong, Mazoe orange and more.
