New Forge Island footbridge lifted into place

footbridge

Weighing 86 tonnes and measuring 46 metres in length, the bridge was carefully moved to its new permanent home last week by a specialist crane.

Based on the Bailey Bridge design, the bridge will link the flagship Forge Island development – including the brand new cinema, hotel and restaurants – to the heart of the town centre.
