A warm welcome

Walsh’s Irish Sports Bar on Domine Lane is having a bit of a revamp, so as of Monday 1st May, they will be Magoo's Sports Bar & Coffee Lounge!

The tasty breakfast and lunch menu will be available every day with Bistro evenings held every Friday and Saturday from 5pm to 10pm. There's even a bar menu too! Take a look at the mouthwatering menus and find out more on their Facebook page here.

  • If you're heading into town this Saturday, Habitat and Home will be holding their grand opening from 10am at their new homeware shop at the Imperial Buildings. Don't forget it's free to park every weekend in Council off-street town centre car parks too!

Chapel on the Bridge Open Day

The iconic Chapel on the Bridge will be open this Saturday (29 April) from 10:30 to 13:30.

If you haven't been before, we highly recommend a visit to see the historic crypt/jail.

Improving safety in the town centre

We're pleased to confirm the Council has secured funding to deliver safety improvements in the town centre.

This includes new lighting, replacement fire door and upgrades to shop radios. Work is also taking place to install new CCTV on High Street and Snail Hill.

King's Coronation celebrations - more events confirmed

Rotherham Minster will be showing the King's Coronation on a big screen on Saturday 6th May, as well as offering refreshments and activities.

You can also join in the free entertainment at the Coronation Celebration in and around All Saints' Square and Minster Gardens!

The Bewonderment Machine, an artist-built cycle-powered carousel with hand-carved animals, puppetry and music will be there and is suitable for children aged 2 to 6. Plus the fabulous Folk Dance Remixed will be bringing a fresh, quirky, colourful and magical collision of traditional and Hip Hop dance and music.

There will also be a street party on the outdoor covered market from 10am to 3pm with FREE food & drink, tombola, children's entertainment (including a magic show), party games and more.
