As works to the junction of Coach Road and Main Street are now almost complete, Greasbrough Ward Councillors would like to know your views as local residents with regard to how this junction now works.
Feedback from people that use the junction by foot, or by vehicle is being sought, so please contact your councillors using the contact details found at the bottom of this newsletter.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
Dog fouling stencils are now in place within Greasbrough, including Brimmagem Fold and the pathway between Mill Street and New Street.
These signs advise you to pick up or pay up as failure to clean up after your dog can result in the issue of a Fixed Penalty Notice of £100, or if the case goes to court a fine of up to £1,000.
You can use any litter bin to dispose of your dog bags and if one is not available please take it home and dispose of it in your general waste bin.
In Rotherham alone we clear up approximately two tons of dog fouling each year from our streets and recreational areas. This is due to irresponsible dog owners failing to pick up after their dog.
It is the responsibility of the person in charge of the dog to clear up any dog foul left by their dog. The legislation makes it clear that being unaware that the dog has fouled, or not having a suitable means of removing the faeces is not a reasonable excuse for failing to remove the foul.
A single dog mess can contain approximately 1 million microscopic Toxocara eggs. This can cause a potentially serious infection in humans leading to blindness.

 Local children tackle dog fouling
Children from Sarah & Carly Childminding have also been out and about on poop patrol, installing their own signs which they have designed.
They have provided poo bags in containers attached to bins and trees for dog owners to use.
Fantastic work!
The Community Payback Team have removed the weeds and cut back the plants in the Memorial Garden outside the entrance to Greasbrough Library recently.
They also cleared the weeds from the beds down the side of the Library, this now enables people to get a better view of the mural.
A big thanks to the team, they have done a great job.
Greasbrough Ward Councillors are interested to hear from anyone that knows the history of the metal sculpture outside the Library.
If any local resident knows the story of why this design was selected and why this location was chosen, please get in touch using the contact details found at the bottom of this newsletter.
Or, pop in and see your Ward Councillors at their Surgery in Greasbrough Library on Saturday morning 10am to 11am.
Goal posts belonging to Greasbrough Youth FC have been vandalised again.
Unfortunately they are being damaged on a frequent basis, which causes issues and associated costs for the club.
The equipment is stored in a fenced off area so vandals are climbing over the fence to cause the damage.
- If anyone witnesses anyone causing damage, please report to South Yorkshire Police on 101, or via the online portal
