Our Services on Monday 19 Setpember

Refuse collectors and lorry

Some Rotherham Council services will be closed or have amended operating hours on Monday 19 September, the Bank Holiday for the State Funeral of Her Majesty The Queen.

Refuse collections 

Refuse collections will go ahead on Monday 19 September but will begin one hour earlier than usual. Please ensure your bin is out for collection by 6am. If friends and relatives have Monday collections, please help us spread the word and let them know.

Other services including libraries, household waste and recycling centres and markets will be closed.

All our services and buildings will revert to usual operation and opening times on Tuesday 20 September.

Books of remembrance still open

Mayor signing book of condolence

Books of Condolence for Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will remain open at Rotherham Town Hall, Riverside House and Rotherham Minster up to and including 20 September.

The Town Hall and Riverside House are closed on Monday 19 September but the Minster will be open from 9am to 1pm.

Personal condolences can also be recorded online in Rotherham's online book of condolence. A national e-book of condolence is also available on the Buckingham Palace website royal.uk

National moment of reflection

National moment of reflection

A National Moment of Reflection will take place with a one-minute silence at 8pm on Sunday 18 September to mourn the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and reflect on her life and legacy.

The silence can be marked privately at home, with friends and family, out on doorsteps or the street with neighbours, or at locally arranged community events and vigils.
