As Ward Councillors one of our roles is to work with the Councils’ Housing Service around how we can support them to involve tenants in making improvements in the wards where they live.
Ward Housing Hubs are supported by an annual budget, which is used to make improvements within neighbourhoods. Each ward has an approved annual budget to help deliver local projects.
Previous projects have helped to improve the local environment, facilities and reduce crime and anti-social behaviour. Examples of projects have included:
- Security lighting
- Play equipment
- Parking bollards
- Community clean ups and skip days.
If you are a Council tenant and have a suggestion that you would like to see funded in your area, then we would like to hear from you.
If you are struggling with stress, depression, anxiety, panic or low self-esteem, you can self-refer to Rotherham IAPT - Improving Access to Psychological Therapies.
The service offers talking therapies, group sessions and workshops and can support you to improve your mental health and wellbeing.
Appointments are available within a week, and you can self-refer online at https://iapt.rdash.nhs.uk/about-rotherham-iapt/self-referral-form/ or you can call 03000 215 108.

Can you help support Rotherham residents?
Rotherham Federation of Communities (Rotherfed) is looking for volunteers to make calls to lonely or isolated residents in Rotherham.
The telephone befriending project is a lifeline for some residents and more volunteers are needed to help meet the demand.
Can you spare 1 hour a week? Volunteers make weekly telephone calls to matched recipients, often forming friendships along the way.
So if you enjoy a chat and think you can help please contact Rotherfed about this role and other volunteering roles available.
