Blooming Marvellous
There is still time to enter this year's Rotherham in Bloom Garden Competition.
There are several categories to enter with each category having two winners, one Council and one non-Council household winning £100 worth of gardening vouchers and two runners up in each category receiving £50 vouchers.
June Smith (pictured) from Rotherham won last year’s competition for her eye-catching pots and planters. June told us: "In the two years that I’ve lived here I’ve transformed my little plot into a haven to sit in and enjoy.
“It’s hard work but getting out in the fresh air has helped my health and wellbeing. Seeing my neighbours stop to appreciate and admire my garden makes it all worthwhile.”
To enter the competition simply upload a minimum of three photos of your garden along with a few words about what your garden means to you.
The closing date for entries is Sunday 7 August with winners announced at the end of August.

What’s on as part of the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 Festival
Excitement is building to the start of the UEFA Women's EURO 2022 tournament at New York Stadium and we're counting down to the international matches being played in Rotherham.
To celebrate the games there will be three months of music, dance, theatre, art and much more across Rotherham.
A new exhibition, Grass Roots To Glory - Our Story So Far (18 June - 9 October), will be launched in Clifton Park Museum. The exhibition charts the powerful and personal story of women’s football across Rotherham.
For each match that Rotherham hosts, the town centre will be transformed by a spectacular Fan Party (10, 14, 18 & 23 July), bringing you a festival of dance, movement, music, food and football skills.
On 16 & 17 July, be inspired at the WOW Rotherham festival in Clifton Park. The event will be a vibrant, colourful, bold, fun, and fearless celebration of women, girls, trans and non-binary communities, connecting Rotherham to other women and girls across the globe as part of the WOW – Women of the World – family.
We also hope you can join in with a travelling programme of 'Make Your Mark' events, which include workshops and have-a-go masterclasses that will be touring to communities across the borough, giving everyone a chance to get involved and help shape how Rotherham celebrates the beautiful game.
Find out more details in the ‘What’s On Section’ for the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 Festival

Treeton War Memorial
The war memorial railings have been painted, the base repaired where the concrete had fallen out, and the area generally cleaned and tidied.
Treeton Parish Councillor Wendy Foers said "It looks so much better and has greatly improved the appearance of the war memorial. We would like to thank Cllr Amy Brookes for arranging this and Equans for carrying out the work".
The Parish Council will be working with Ward Councillors and Council staff to further develop the site and restore the monument back to its former glory. They are in the process of sourcing quotes from specialist companies to carry out the work and will provide further updates on the progress of the project over the coming months.
