Town centre housing transformation underway

housing

Three major new housing developments in the town centre are really starting to take shape.

The sites on Sheffield Road, Westgate and Wellgate, will include over 170 mixed-tenure homes providing much-needed affordable new housing, as well as regenerating derelict sites and supporting town centre businesses through increased footfall.

Council Leader Chris Read and Councillor Denise Lelliott checked on the progress of the ongoing construction works at the new Westgate Riverside development (the former Sheffield Road car park) last week. Read more about the developments here.
