Forge Island canal barrier steel work installed

canal barrier

Now doesn't this look impressive!

The first part of the Forge Island canal barrier steel work was installed recently. When complete, the barrier will reduce flood risk to homes, businesses and the railway station.

Thank you to scheme partners Network Rail, the Canal & Rivers Trust and the Environment Agency.

Gingerbread George launch in aid of Bluebell Wood

Gingerbread George

Staniforths Bakers are collaborating with Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice to launch Gingerbread George at their Effingham Square shop tomorrow (Saturday 23rd April), and you're all invited!

Join them from 10am to 2pm for live music and the chance to meet the big dog himself.

After Gingerbread George launches, the delectable doggy will be available at all Staniforth's bakeries across South Yorkshire from 25th April, with 20% of each Gingerbread George sold going directly to the charity.
