Ward Funding
Cllr Brookes and Cllr Miro have now set their new ward plan priorities for the Rother Vale Ward and are working with local people, community groups and Parish Councils to identify projects that are important to them.
The two Ward Councillors each have a small pot of Community Leadership funding available for groups and organisations to apply for. Applications must be aligned to the Ward Plan priorities and fund activities or services that support at least one of the priorities.
The Ward Plan priorities for 2021/22 are
- Support and contribute to a clean and green environment
- Support and develop Community Safety
- Support and develop initiatives to promote health, economic and social issues
Groups must have a constitution and a group bank account, and all projects submitted must be delivered and allocations spent by 31st March 2022.

Council Housing Surgeries
The housing surgery is an opportunity to meet your Housing Officer and discuss any issues associated with your council tenancy or other council tenancies. The Rother Vale surgeries will take place every Wednesday morning alternating between two different venues, starting at 10am until 11.30am. You can drop in without an appointment during these times, however please remember to adhere to Covid guidelines whilst at the surgeries.

The Reading Rooms, 21 Front St, Treeton, S60 5QP - First surgery date is Wednesday 22nd September
Chapel Walk, Frederick Street, Catcliffe, S60 5TT - First surgery date is Wednesday 29th September

The Parkway Widening Scheme
Balfour Beatty, the contractors working on the new £46 million parkway improvement scheme will be holding open sessions in Catcliffe Memorial Hall every Tuesday in September between 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. They are inviting residents to discuss the work being carried out on the Parkway and their involvement in a whole variety of community projects. Public liaison officer Rachel Davies said ‘We are initially holding lunch time sessions throughout September for people to drop-in and have a chat with us, we will also look at holding early evening sessions if people prefer this’

Activities at the Hall
Catcliffe Memorial Hall is pleased to be opening up again and is now offering a variety of activities to suit all age groups and interests.
- Monday – 10:00 am Story Frog - 5:15 pm Girl Guides Brownies Rainbows
- Tuesday – 7:00 pm Short Mat Bowls
- Wednesday – 6:00 pm Zumba - 7:30 pm Scottish Dancing
- Thursday – 10:00 am Gentle exercise/Active Reg - 7:00 pm Yoga
- Friday - 9.45am – Yoga - 6:00 pm Chance to Dance
- Saturday – 9:00 am - Born to Perform.
- Mini Kixx are currently using the recreation ground on Thursdays at 4.30pm.

The Coffee Pot
The group are opening their doors again at St Mary's Church for tea, coffee, cakes, and most of all a good old chat and a chance to meet up again!
The coffee pot will be open every Tuesday between 10:00 – 12:00 at the Church in Catcliffe. Anyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the morning snacks available free of charge, although donations are welcome. Catcliffe Kiln Open Day
There was a steady flow of visitors at the kiln for the open day hosted by the Catcliffe Cone Community Group. The event was carried out in conjunction with the Museum staff and artist Angie Hardwick, who delivered a family craft activity to decorate glass bottles. The groups next project is an exhibition based on Halloween that will be on display inside the kiln in October. Join the Club
This is a FREE group for those who are looking for work and for those who need any help with benefits or debt advise. Pathways are supporting the group with finding work, training opportunities, CV writing, interview techniques and much more. Citizens Advice are supporting those who need help with benefits or debt advice. The next session is 20th September and we are asking people to book on either the 1pm or 2pm session by emailing claire.stinson@rotherfed.org or karen.jay@rotherfed.org or texting/phoning Claire on 07398013796. There will also be FREE refreshments served.
