Blooming Lovely
Treeton Parish Council have attached around 80 flower holsters to lamp posts, stretching from the bottom of Mill Lane up Station Road, down Well Lane and to Bole Hill, along Front Street and Wood Lane to the roundabout and all along High Hazel Road.
Julie James, Clerk to Treeton Parish Council said: ‘These were all funded through the precept paid in by parishioners and we hope that they add a ‘feel good factor’ after what has been a very difficult period with the pandemic, and will cheer us all up through the summer as well as making Treeton Bloom’
The Parish Council team have also planted up the miner half wheel and coal tubs, and residents in the village are helping with the watering.

Walkabout at Waverley
The Rother Vale Ward Councillors joined Waverley Community Council on a walkabout of the Waverley estate. They were joined by Duncan Armstrong-Payne from the Harworth Group, who gave a tour of current development and an overview of the exciting new developments to come. These include the Olive Lane shopping area, brand new medical centre, and leisure facilities.
Members of the Community Council raised concerns regarding issues with speeding vehicles in and around Highfield lane, and will be working with the Borough Council to explore possible solutions.

Water Safety Days
We have lots of beautiful stretches of open water in Rotherham for families and young people to enjoy, especially during the hot summer days. However, these stretches of water, although look very inviting can be dangerous and we advised not to enter the water. There could be hidden dangers and strong currents, as well as the risk of sudden cold-water shock, which can be fatal.
South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue is linking up with partners to hold several water safety days. Come along to one of the sessions, meet the experts, and get advice about how to keep yourself and your families safe around open water.
- Friday 23rd July 2pm - 5pm at Treeton Dyke.
- Sunday 1st August 2pm – 5pm at Rother Valley Country Park
- Sunday 8th August – 2pm – 5pm at Ulley Country Park.
