Welcome to the December edition of the Wingfield News from your Neighbourhood.
Christmas Festive Cheer
This year Greasbrough has not one but two Christmas trees. One is on the roof of Greasbrough Library and, due to a delay with the works at the roundabout in Greasbrough, a second one was able to be erected in the grounds of the old Public Hall.
Due to current government guidelines regarding Covid restrictions an official light switch or carol service was not possible this year. However it is planned that next year there will be a community event for everyone to attend.
The trees have been funded through the Wingfield Ward Devolved Budget.

Latest coronavirus advice
Rotherham is in the Tier 3: Very High Alert level of Covid-19 restrictions as of Wednesday 2 December.
Under Tier 3 retail, gyms and close-contact beauty services like hairdressers can open but many venues including pubs, restaurants, hotels and indoor entertainment such as cinemas and bingo halls must remain closed.
You must not meet people from outside your household or support bubble socially, either indoors or in most outdoor places. This includes in any private garden and most outdoor venues.
You can meet others in a group of no more than 6 people at some outdoor public spaces, such as parks or countryside accessible to the public or a heritage site – this is called the ‘rule of 6’. Social distancing must be used.
The Post Office and General Store on Cross Street/Firth Road, Greasbrough have added to the festive spirit by lighting up their building. Thanks to Nikki and Tony - it looks great!
