A message from Wingfield ward councillors
"The three councillors for Wingfield ward have, like everyone else in the country, had to make changes to the way they work. At a Council level all meetings have carried on as usual, albeit virtually, so instead of being in the Town Hall or at the Council's offices we are sat at home in front of a screen dealing with the various aspects of Council business.
"At a Ward level we are always available by telephone or email and during the lockdown we have still made contact with residents regarding various issues they have raised. In some cases we are contacting some residents on a regular basis to make sure that they remain supported. We have also been working proactively with our partners on issues such as anti-social behaviour, and pursuing a bid for a multi-use games area on Greasbrough Recreation Ground.
"We are looking forward to resuming our surgeries so that once again we will be able to meet and converse with residents face to face. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us should you have an issue that we may be able to help with. Contact details are included in this newsletter.

Greasbrough Rec multi-use games area
Ward Councillors are working with partners to try and secure funding for a multi-use games area (or MUGA) on Greasbrough Recreation Ground. Such an amenity would be accessible and free to use by everyone to play a wide range of sports. Bookable or organised activities will also take place.
This is a long held aspiration. A recent survey of young people confirmed that this is what they would like to see.
The Councillors are working with partners in the public, private and voluntary sectors – including the Friends of Greasbrough Parks and Rotherham United Community Sport Trust – to try and make this happen.
We should know more in September 2020, fingers crossed!
