Boston Castle in a nutshell
Boston Castle ward covers Rotherham Town Centre, Canklow, Wellgate, Broom Valley and parts of Clifton and Moorgate. With over 14,500 residents living in Boston Castle, it is the most diverse ward in the borough.
The ward is home to many of Rotherham's well known landmarks such as Magna Science Adventure Park, New York Stadium, Clifton Park and Museum, Boston Park and Castle, and Canklow Woods.
Read on to find out what issues are emerging in your area and how your local Neighbourhoods Team and Councillors will target these.

Your ward priorities
As well as celebrating Boston Castle, the local Neighbourhoods Team and Councillors want to work with the community to overcome any issues that arise in the ward. Through community engagement and research, a Boston Castle Ward Plan has been developed to target three emerging priorities:
- A co-ordinated response to crime and anti-social behaviour, with a particular focus on Wellgate House, Wharncliffe Flats, Herringthorpe Playing Fields and Boston Castle Grove
- Continuing to update and work with the community on specific local developments
- Continuing to celebrate achievements and bring communities together, strengthening a sense of belonging
To deliver this plan, your local Councillors want to hear from you with ideas and suggestions! Below is one example of how you can already get involved and have your say!

Boston Castle Ward event June 2019
A huge part of the Ward Plan is to make sure the local community has a voice. One way this is done is through quarterly Ward Events.
Our most recent event took place in June, with updates on the night from all three Councillors, South Yorkshire Police, Council staff and local residents.
The next event on 17 September will be 'Dragons Den' themed, where members of the local community can propose projects for their area by bidding for funding from the Councillors ward budget. The fun will start at 6:30 at Rotherham Town Hall - keep your eyes peeled for more information coming soon!
If you want to get involved in future events please email neighbourhoods@rotherham.gov.uk confirming which ward you are from and we can add you to the invite list.
