Brown bin

Bin collections across Rotherham are changing

Householders can now sign up to Rotherham’s new garden waste collection service and get a new brown bin for their garden waste.

Any residents who wish to have their garden waste collected after the end of October will need to pay for the new service. Households can sign up now on the Council's website.

From 29 October 2018, Rotherham Council will stop collecting blue bags from the kerbside and residents should start to use their green bin for paper and cardboard recycling.

Forge Island

Developer selected for Forge Island regeneration

Muse Developments has been chosen by Rotherham Council as its preferred partner for the regeneration of Forge Island.

The successful proposal submitted by Muse Developments includes a cinema, food and drink outlets and a hotel. The leisure facilities will be set within an attractive public space and will include a new pedestrian bridge connecting to the rest of the town centre.

Poppy Cascade

Appeal for help to finish Rotherham poppy cascade

Knitters are being urged to come forward to help finish a cascading wall of poppies aimed at commemorating the centenary of the end of the first world war.

Thousands of poppies are needed for the installation to be complete, which is why traders, army veterans and reservists are urging people to come forward and get their knitting needles clicking to help make it happen.

Pupils celebrate top A Levels results in Rotherham

Students across Rotherham recently received their A-Level examination results and overall results show a bumper year with a 99.1 per cent pass rate for the borough, which is an increase in 0.2 per cent on last year.

A week laterthousands of pupils also celebrated after scooping great results across the borough for GCSEs.
