One of our most popular libraries will benefit from a significant modernisation programme after being awarded nearly £400,000 in grant funding.
Following the council's successful bid for external funding, Fullwell Cross Library in Barkingside will receive £380,000 of capital investment from the Libraries Development Fund.
The funding will help pave the way for essential repairs, making Fullwell Cross Library a modern, welcoming, and peaceful place for local people to spend their free time enjoying thousands of novels, digging into local history, and honing their digital skills while supporting children with school work and research projects.

Thanks to a network of PayPoint sites across the borough that can accept cash payments for parking, local people now have more parking payment options.
The widely recognised PayPoint scheme allows people to pay for a range of goods and services at any local retailer or business signed up as a PayPoint site.
More than 100 sites exist across the borough already, and since the start of March, they have also been activated to accept payment for parking -and you can pay in cash if you would like to.
Children’s rights include things we take for granted, such as the right to education, protection from child exploitation and child labour, and privacy. However, other rights that exemplify childhood are also enshrined in law. These include the right to play, to rest, to leisure, and to have their voices heard.
Redbridge is working towards becoming a UNICEF UK-accredited Child-Friendly Borough. As part of this, we are bringing children into the heart of local decision-making and listening to their views so we can create a borough that works for children.
Please remember that hospital and emergency departments can be extremely busy over the Easter holidays.
You can often be seen more quickly and easily by your GP or local pharmacist today.
Urgent GP appointments are available seven days a week - even over the Easter holidays. Calling your GP or NHS 111 might get you faster, more appropriate care than calling 999.
