Gants Hill residents joined Redbridge Council to share ideas on enhancing Gants Hill at five themed workshops.
Local people and the Community Hubs team led the workshops and discussed what they wanted to change and opportunities to work together to make them happen.
The topics included:
- Women’s safety
- Making the area more attractive and cleaner.
- Bringing people together and supporting young people
Over the next three months, the council is consulting on proposals to renew selective licensing in the borough. We need your views to help us improve rented homes/properties in the borough.
We aim to ensure that all rented properties are safe and well-managed. Providing us with your feedback via our online questionnaire will help us to better understand how and where we can make a difference.
We know people are struggling right now and finding things tough.
One of the things we're already doing to make life that bit easier for residents is the significant level of support we provide through our current Council Tax Reduction Scheme for working-age residents.
We are now proposing to retain this scheme for the forthcoming financial year, 2023/24.
Please complete our online survey and share your thoughts on this proposal by Friday 16 December.

We recently commissioned nationally recognised expert George Charlton to work with Redbridge service users to develop a local naloxone service called ‘Redbridge, Rescue & Recovery'.
The service will work with individuals and community providers to reduce opioid overdoses within Redbridge. Whilst drug-related-deaths in Redbridge remain low compared to the rest of London; we want to ensure this position does not change in the future.
Peer mentors assigned to the service have undergone a two-day intensive training course at the R3 specialist substance misuse service.
Redbridge Rescue and Recovery practitioners will all be wearing branded jackets and jumpers which read, “ask me about naloxone”, so please feel free to stop and ask one of the practitioners to tell you more.
