It’s National Inclusion Week’s (NIW) 10th anniversary, and this year’s theme is ‘Time to Act, The Power of Now’ which seeks to generate change in making inclusion an everyday reality.
NIW was founded by Inclusive Employers and falls between Monday 26 September to Sunday 2 October. It aims to promote diversity and emphasise the value of equality, inclusion and the positive impact collaboration can have in the workplace.
This year, our staff equality networks have teamed up to host a series of exciting inclusion events and activities, including speakers, virtual events, seminars, interactive Yammer discussions and more!
Check out our upcoming events by visiting the intranet and add them to your calendar.
Ten minutes is all the time you’ll need to complete our anonymous staff survey.
We’d like to know what you think about the weekly Chief Executive’s video blogs, how you currently hear about council news, and what you think about a few ideas we have.
Your feedback will help us to understand what your communications preferences are and shape how you hear from and engage with our Chief Exec.
The survey will be open until 5pm on Friday 30 September and individual responses will not be shared.

HR and the Domestic Abuse leads in the council are hosting information sessions over the autumn on our Staff Domestic Abuse Policy.
The Chief Executive launched the Domestic Abuse policy in August. This is a very topical and serious issue and we are keen that staff and managers are aware of the main elements of support to staff who are survivors or experiencing domestic abuse. The policy highlights the signs to look for and the type of support available, including for those staff who may self-disclose that they are perpetrators of domestic abuse and who want to seek help and support to change behaviours.
These short briefing sessions are for staff and managers and are designed to:
- Raise awareness about Domestic Abuse and the signs to look for
- Highlight the key considerations in the new policy
- Signpost and highlight other sources of support
- Be aware of the five key areas we have signed up to in the Domestic Abuse Charter
Please join one of the below sessions:
Or go to Upcoming Events to add to your calendar.
Should you have any query please contact, Lyn.Downey@redbridge.gov.uk or Monique.McKoy@redbridge.gov.uk.
We look forward to meeting you on Teams.
