We'll be marking Armed Forces Day with a short ceremony outside Redbridge Town Hall at 10am on Friday 24 June.
Armed Forces Day is a chance to show your support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community from currently serving troops, to service families, veterans and cadets.
Members of the public are welcome to come and observe and pay their respects. The Leader, Cllr Jas Athwal, and the Mayor of Redbridge, Cllr Thavathuray Jeyaranjan, will attend Friday's ceremony.

Our June edition of Redbridge Wall of Shame is live and features ten new clips of grime crime offenders we want to track down. Can you help us identify them? Let us know if you recognise any of the criminals caught on camera trashing our streets.
Your tip-offs have already helped identify fly-tippers from our last three editions, who have now been fined. Head to our Redbridge Wall of Shame to view the latest clips and find out how to report anyone you recognise.

Last month, our secondary schools were challenged to design a poster, or social media post, to encourage local families to walk more as part of National Walk to School Week.
#Try20 was this year’s National Walking Month hashtag – challenging people to walk just 20 minutes a day during May.
Successful entries highlighted the health and environmental benefits of walking, and winners were judged by the Council’s Smarter Travel Team and Sustrans London. “Walk to school. Less carbon footprint, more pollution-free future!”, “A Walk in Nature Walks the Soul” are some of the messages from the entries.
One local teacher said that: “As soon as students found out the prize was to have their designs published on the Council’s social media channels, loads wanted to take part!”
In Year 8 at Kantor King Solomon School in Barkingside, Mia submitted the winning entry pictured above on the left.
There were four runners-up; Afrin, Year 9, Loxford School; Hansika, Year 8, Kanter King Solomon School; Hemani, Year 9, Loxford School; Rayhaan, Year 9, Loxford School, pictured on the right.

We want businesses, community groups, faith centres and local people to adopt or sponsor a planter and help keep our high streets blooming this summer.
In 2021, through Government funding, we rolled out beautiful planters across our high streets to welcome shoppers back following the first wave of the pandemic. The flowers have introduced a pop of colour across Redbridge, brightening up the borough, increasing biodiversity and supporting local wildlife like bees and butterflies. To keep the planters in place, we’re asking the local community to adopt or sponsor them and help make them a permanent feature.
So far, 40 rail and 13 floor planters have been adopted, but we want to do even better and need your help. If you can adopt or sponsor a planter or know a community group or business who would be interested, please get in touch with us via email.
