This is a must-attend free event for people of all ages!
Organised by the Ilford Business Improvement District, a huge street party will start at 12pm and finish at 5pm. The party will showcase musical and variety acts on stage, fun assault courses, art props, a big lunch table, food and drink market stalls and a fireworks display.

Sunday 5 June is gearing up to be a memorable day in the borough’s history when over 13,000 fellow neighbours will come together to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee in true British style, with over 95 street parties taking place throughout the borough.
We’ll be following up on the Platinum Jubilee in the June edition of Redbridge Life, and we would love for our community to send us photos of their celebrations from their street parties via email.
As you would expect, the streets hosting street parties will be closed to traffic on the day, so please be patient and respectful if these impact your journey.

The QGC is a unique tree-planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, inviting people from across the United Kingdom to ‘Plant a Tree for the Jubilee’.
From individuals to schools, Scout and Girl guiding groups and councils, many people have played their part in enhancing the environment by planting trees during the official planting season between October to March.
In Redbridge, we have been delighted to get firmly behind the QGC project, providing funding to ensure the legacy of the Platinum Jubilee will continue to live on for many years to come.

The Jubilee presents a unique and unforgettable experience for children and young people in Redbridge – many of whom were too young to remember the Diamond Jubilee in 2012 or weren’t yet born!
Our students around the borough have participated in a range of activities to celebrate and learn about this historic event.

Located on Oakfield Road, next door to Ilford Town Hall, the space reflects the ambitions of the council to build a greener town centre as we combat the effects of climate change.
Supported by the Mayor of London’s Good Growth Fund and designed by Jan Kattein Architects, Wilderness Street aims to provide users with a space to relax and connect with people and nature without necessarily being in a park or garden. The day promises to be fun-packed, including interactive art planting activities and a speech from the Leader.
Over this year, Wilderness Street will play host to many activities, including community planting, greening workshops, outdoor art events and wellbeing activities.
To find out more about Wilderness Street or if you’d like to get involved, please email our team.
![Ilford Town Hall](https://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/fancy_images/UKREDBRIDGE/2022/06/5983722/town-hall_original.jpg) Tackling poverty whilst building a cleaner, greener, fairer, and healthier borough will be priorities for Redbridge Council over the next four years.
In his annual address at Full Council earlier this week, Cllr Jas Athwal, the Leader of Redbridge Council, said despite the difficulties posed by the cost-of-living crisis and cuts to the council’s budget, he was determined to deliver improvements that benefit everyone.
