This is open to all parents/carers of children and young people with additional needs attending any secondary school across Portsmouth.

Final call to book onto the Annual Review paperwork workshops

The SEN Team will be repeating the short workshops delivered this summer term in order to support understanding and practice around different areas of the Annual Review paperwork.

These sessions will provide an opportunity to understand what the purpose is of specific sections of the AR paperwork, refresh your knowledge, discuss your current practice with colleagues from different schools and ask questions.

The goal of these sessions is to:
• Create consistency of practice across our settings;
• Ensure that Annual Review paperwork results in quality EHCP amendments;
• Ensure that requests which come into the SEN Team via Annual Review paperwork can be considered and actioned efficiently.

We politely ask that this link is not shared with other colleagues, so we can keep a list of who will be attending. If you sign up and then are no longer able to attend, please liaise with Lauren.

Room One: Loved Ones Group is open to carers and loved ones supporting someone (of any age) who is autistic or neurodivergent. These groups provide a friendly, supportive space to share experiences with others who understand.

From July onwards, the group will run twice monthly including an evening session to offer greater flexibility:

• 2nd Friday of the month (10am to 12pm)
• 3rd Tuesday of the month (5.30pm to 7.30pm)

The post-16 careers & apprenticeship show

The annual Careers & Apprenticeship Show is back for September 2026. This event invites young people aged 15-25 and their parents/carers to find information about education, apprenticeships, and careers opportunities beyond secondary education.

Date: Wednesday 23rd September 2026 from 3pm to 6pm
Venue: Mountbatten Centre

This free event is an opportunity for parents and young people to explore the range of progression routes available in and around the city.

Over 50 employers, FE colleges and training providers will be exhibiting at this event, to answer questions and showcase the range of opportunities in their business and industry.

Submit entries for the PEP "100 Recommended Reads"

The PEP Early Language and Literacy Development Group in conjunction with Portsmouth School Library Service would like to invite submissions of a 'Recommended Read' to make the final list of the PEP 'Portsmouth 100 Recommended Reads' in 2026 - 27, the National Year of Reading and also the year of Portsmouth's 100^th anniversary of becoming a city. 

Submissions are welcome from all members of the community, individuals, classes or a whole school for suggestions of books or any other reading material that is suitable for children, young people, families and all members of our Portsmouth community from 0 - 100+ years of age. 

Entries can be made through the brief and easy Recommendation Form enabling you to let us know the book title, author, and why you think this text should make our top 100 in this very special year! 

Deadline for submission Tuesday 30 June 2026.
