Submit entries for the PEP "100 Recommended Reads"
The PEP Early Language and Literacy Development Group in conjunction with Portsmouth School Library Service would like to invite submissions of a 'Recommended Read' to make the final list of the PEP 'Portsmouth 100 Recommended Reads' in 2026 - 27, the National Year of Reading and also the year of Portsmouth's 100th anniversary of becoming a city.
Submissions are welcome from all members of the community, individuals, classes or a whole school for suggestions of books or any other reading material that is suitable for children, young people, families and all members of our Portsmouth community from 0 - 100+ years of age.
Entries can be made through the brief and easy Recommendation Form enabling you to let us know the book title, author, and why you think this text should make our top 100 in this very special year!
Deadline for submission Tuesday 30 June 2026.

Advance notice: 2027 Transition dates for primary and secondary
The team would like to say a huge thank you to all schools for actively engaging in the transition process this year. Several requests received to confirm dates for the next academic year:

Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 July 2027 Citywide transition days

To help make the calendar as useful as possible for everyone, colleagues and partners are encouraged to regularly add relevant dates that you'd like to share. If you're scheduling your own event or training, you can check availability on the PEP calendar to avoid potential clashes with other events.
To add a date to the PEP calendar, simply forward your meeting invite to pepportsmouth@gmail.com and it will be added automatically.
