Work on site is progressing well at Bransbury Park! From 11 May, temporary sheet piling will be installed around the footprint of the new building to manage groundwater on site.
A special piece of kit called vibro hammer will be used for this process, as it is quieter than other methods. However, some vibration may still be noticeable at times, depending on the location of the equipment and ground conditions.
Our building contractor, Willmott Dixon, would like to reassure nearby residents that vibration levels will be within agreed limits and well below those that could cause damage to surrounding properties. If you are nearby, you should have had a letter directly from the site team, with more information and contact details.
The temporary blue container offices currently on site (at the back of this picture) will also be replaced with two-storey site office and welfare facility for staff.
Your next bulletin from us will be at the end of the May, and then we'll be sending you fortnightly updates from site until completion - if you subscribe to the Hilsea Lines bulletin, it'll be much like we did with Hilsea Lido!

We're aware that access around parts of the site has been limited during the early stages of the project.
To improve this, plans are in place to create a safe temporary route along the northern edge of the site (in red above), allowing cyclists and pedestrians to travel between the park and the main road.
Wilmott Dixon are expected to begin work on this shortly, with the new route due to open in the coming weeks.

Since work began on 13 April, hoarding has been installed along Bransbury Road, a main site entrance has been set up, and the site has been connected to the foul drainage system.
Initial work has also started on internal access routes and preparing ground materials for removal. These early activities are part of the preparation phase ahead of the main construction works, which are due to begin on 11 May (tomorrow!).

Reds Builders continue to forge ahead with creating the new play area. The new grass will need to establish before we can give an opening date, so let's hope for a bit more rain in the coming weeks so it can get growing quickly!
