Update from Bransbury Park

As previously announced, enabling works have now begun on site. Our contractors, Willmott Dixon, are the team on the ground, and we are working closely with them to deliver a brand new leisure centre and GP practice at Bransbury Park.
Hoardings are now in place along the front of the site, with Heras fencing surrounding the remaining areas. No further hoarding is planned, so what you see now is the final setup, although we will decorate them - more info on that later. This has been installed to comply with safety regulations and to protect the public. If you’re passing by, there will still be opportunities to peek through the gaps in the fencing if you wish!
Just to reassure you, full access to the Community Centre remains in place, and it will stay open as usual throughout the entire build.

The work you can see at the front of the site is the start of the new haul road. This will make it easier for the team to bring heavy equipment on and off site safely and efficiently, without causing any damage.

As you can see, temporary traffic lights are in place to allow people to cross the road safely while the footpath is closed during construction of the haul road. These lights are scheduled to remain for a couple more weeks. It’s likely they will return for a short period in May to support additional water installation work.

The area at the back of the site has been closed off with fencing for a few months, but the team is currently working out a way to reopen this access as soon as possible. They are aiming to make it accessible again within the next couple of weeks.

The playground is coming along nicely, and the old equipment has now been completely dismantled. Once the work here is finished, the area will need some time for the grass to bed in, and we'll update you with more details as the project progresses.

Ahead of work starting on the leisure centre, this pathway was installed along the edge of the park. It links up with an existing path further along and allows Pompey Pedals and Junior parkrun to continue running their activities on site while construction is underway.
