New play area coming soon

climbing frame

A brand-new play area is coming to Bransbury Park, with equipment that will appeal to many children and families, stimulate play and exploration, and be fun. In fact, work has started already, as you'll see from the compound set up in the south-west corner of the park.

It'll be more accessible, with the use of rubber mulch and tiles for easier access, and fun new equipment like the climbing frame above. There will also be quiet areas, sensory elements and new planting.

We've worked with our contractors to maximise the period of time the old playground is open for. It is now due to close during the week commencing 2 March. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but as the main building work for the new centre starts soon, it is an important step towards creating modern new facilities for local families.

While the new playground is being built, you can still enjoy great play spaces nearby at:

  • Milton Park
  • Fort Cumberland Road

Thank you for your patience while we create a safer, more exciting and accessible play area for children of all ages.

More from the project and area

trees

As you know the team have been removing a small number of trees in and around the existing play area, before the building work begins.

We have removed just four trees (one these was a 'double tree' so counted as two), and pruned some back. The rest in this area are staying put.

We'll also be planting 50 more trees as part of the project.
