 The actual headcount task will be available on the provider portal from Monday 30 June 2025.
All providers will need to complete the task to claim early education funding for their under two, two, three and four year olds who are registered to attend in the Autumn term. Payments will be processed during the first week of September based on the information you submit to us.
The deadline for submission is Friday 4 July 2025.
Due to the upcoming funding changes and increased workloads that everyone is experiencing during this time, could we ask that, if you need to contact the EY funding team for any reason that you email eyfunding@portsmouthcc,gov.uk in the first instance rather than phone as it may take longer to respond to phone calls. Thank you for your patience during this time.
Please remember:
- Parents must have completed and signed the updated parental declaration forms before you add children to the headcount task. You may want to consider issuing this form to parents as part of your registration process.
- The 'Present During Census' tick box should be ticked for each child record that you are claiming funding for.
- You can still claim funding for children who start after the submission deadline date by adding them to the Adjustment period 1 headcount task which will be issued in September 2025.
 Due to time constraints and requests from providers, we have cancelled the Teams provider update sessions that were planned for Monday 23 June and Tuesday 24 June.

We have pre-recorded an update session demonstrating the updates to Synergy that we will send out next week. You'll be able to view this at a time that suits you. We will be running a live Teams session for providers early in the Autumn term and if you have any questions then please contact eyfunding@portsmouthcc.gov.uk.
The parent declaration form has also been updated to reflect the recent changes and will be available on the Portsmouth City Council website under 'Early education funding and processes documents' and on the Traded Services website under 'funding' on the resources page. You can also view and download it at the button below. Please delete any previous copies of this form.
