If you would like to nominate members of your team to attend PEEP training to be trained as a PEEP Practitioner, please complete this booking form and send to the Business Support Manager at Home-Start Portsmouth: hannahc@hsportsmouth.org.uk.
The PEEP Learning Together programme is about practitioners running sessions for parents to learn how to play and support their child in a range of areas supporting the EYFS. We have a number of trained PEEP practitioners in Portsmouth who will be running PEEP or PEEP informed groups in Family Hubs and through 1:1 work in family homes, e.g. Home-Start Portsmouth.
As an Early Years setting, why not join our Portsmouth PEEP community and access free 2 day training and then have the license to run your own family sessions within your setting? Take a look at the website for more information.
Once trained as a PEEP Practitioner, you will be able to access ongoing support through a Portsmouth PEEP forum and members of the Early Years team who have also been trained will be able to answer questions about how you can deliver PEEP to your families. So if one of your setting priorities is to support families to understand how to play and learn together with their children, this is the training and opportunity for you!
Training will take place on 23 and 24 January 2025 at Home-Start Portsmouth HQ, PO1 4HA. Training is typically 9.30am - 4.30pm and delegates will be required to attend both days. More information, including confirmation of times will be given to delegates nearer to the training date. The deadline to submit the booking form is Tuesday 7 January 2025.

You can access Stop Domestic Abuse's level 1 domestic abuse awareness training via Eventbrite for a live online session. Their Community Domestic Abuse Ambassador training is aimed at anyone, whether a professional, manager, friend, family to increase awareness and promote positive responses as well as informing of pathways to support within Hampshire, including Portsmouth.
In order to access the dates you will need to complete the details, review the training agreement to confirm acceptance and you will then be taken into the Eventbrite site so you can review and select training dates.
Stop Domestic Abuse are shortly going to launch their Community Champion Level 2 training, which can also be accessed via the website and will, like their Ambassador training, be promoted via social media. Please follow them for updates and further information as this more detailed training is appropriate for anyone who has completed their Ambassador training and wants to learn more, or for those who have a good level of understanding of the nature and complexities of domestic abuse already.
As domestic abuse is an issue that can impact anyone, their level 2 training is particularly aimed at those who engage with the general public or staff within their communities and have an interest in becoming a domestic abuse champion and lead within their organisation or community.
Both training offers are fully funded so no fee is payable.

This course is for people who want to understand more about their own trauma.
Research shows that by making sense of traumatic events, people can process them and effectively manage triggers.
This course is designed to support a better understanding of trauma, and it will guide your personal journey. Everyone’s experience of trauma is different and finding the right way to process and manage your experience is personal.
This course is for all parents, carers and grandparents of children 0 - 19.
No matter your family set up, the important relationships in a child's life help shape their emotional health and wellbeing.
This transformative course offers a reflective space to think about your child's development, their behaviour and how they are communicating.
It is created by clinical psychologists, child psychotherapists, and family practitioners in partnership with parents who share their experiences.
This course is for parents and families of children who may have additional needs or are differently abled and those who may have a disability (physical or learning).
Understanding your child and their additional needs or different abilities can make it easier to work with your child's behaviour as well as supporting their development.
This course looks at some aspects of parenting: sleeping and anger management, together with more about how we interact with each other.
It follows the same principles of the other Solihull Approach courses and is informed by parents in similar circumstances.
