Up, up and away! Superhero hampers land at Portsmouth's schools |
Teach Portsmouth have been busy thanking the city's school superheroes as hampers were prepared and sent to 62 settings last week. In January, Teach Portsmouth launched the initiative, asking families to share thank you messages for those who had gone above and beyond the call of duty in their school.
Messages were placed on special posters inside a hamper full of goodies, for staff to enjoy. To mark the occasion, Cliffdale Primary Academy hosted a special hamper giving ceremony on Thursday, with staff from Redwood Park Academy and Mary Rose Academy joining us. Mike Stoneman, deputy director, education and Sarah Daly, director, children, families and education at Portsmouth City Council presented hampers alongside Sharon Burt, CEO at Solent Academies Trust who shared presentation duties.
We also visited Arundel Court Primary Academy to present their hamper in person alongside Dawn Spreadbury from Caterlink who co-sponsored the hampers.

Join Foster Portsmouth's Great South Run team |

Our team of foster carers, the children they care for, their birth children and families, council staff and supporters will once again be taking on the challenge of this October’s Great South Run 10-mile, 5km, junior and mini races.
If you’ve secured a place in one of this year’s races over the weekend of 19-20 October, Foster Portsmouth would love to invite you to join their team and wear one of their branded running vests to help raise awareness of the need for additional foster carers in the area to care for the vulnerable children and young people from Portsmouth.
