Portsmouth Mental Health Hub |
|
|
Portsmouth Mental Health Hub is a phoneline that anyone aged 16+ can call to get support for their mental health. The phoneline is run by our team of friendly, fully trained call handlers, who will connect you to the right support for you. This could be support over the phone, an appointment with services such as Talking Therapies Portsmouth or Positive Minds, or an offer to connect you with local organisations.
You do not need to go through your GP before contacting the Hub. Call the team on 0300 123 6621, Monday to Friday, 8am – 6pm, or visit the Portsmouth Mental Health Hub website. Find useful information or complete a contact request form and one of our call handlers will call you back. You are not alone.
A poster promoting the service is available to download here. Please share this via your school/college newsletters, social media etc.

Portsmouth Cultural Education Partnership survey |
|
|
Portsmouth Cultural Education Partnership (PCEP) have created a survey to begin to track how schools have engaged with each other across the PCEP over the last two years. They would be very grateful for your time in completing it. There is also a section at the end that asks for your thoughts on holding another schools expo.
The next PCEP partners meeting will be held on Thursday 16 May 2024 at 4pm on Zoom.
If you have any questions, please contact portsmouthcep@gmail.com.
Research into teaching assistant retention - Staff needed for virtual focus groups |
|
|
Teach Portsmouth is undertaking research into teaching assistant retention and how we can support schools to retain staff. It is hoped that the data received during the discovery stage will be used to create an initiative to support retention.
The second activity sees two virtual focus groups held for teaching assistants and senior leaders to talk broadly about teaching assistant retention. The focus groups are designed for individuals to provide feedback on four areas: CPD/training, career progression/development, challenges and opportunities.
- Teaching assistant focus group: Wednesday 15 May 2024, 3.30pm – 4.30pm
- Senior leader focus group: Thursday 16 May 2024, 3.30pm – 4.30pm
Those who attend will be given prompts prior to the session which will inform our discussion during the focus group. Each topic area will have roughly 15 minutes with attendees sharing their experiences/thoughts on each one.
Please share this with teaching assistants who would be happy to attend. As a thank you, one lucky attendee will be chosen at random to win a £25 Amazon voucher as a thank you.
If you would like to attend, please email teachportsmouth@portsmouthcc.gov.uk.

If you're good at working through problems, are committed to safeguarding the welfare of the girls the organisation works with, and are able to support a mentee for at least one hour a month for 12 months, why not apply to become a mentor?
