'Let's Talk About It' - easier to translate |
|
|
Solent NHS Trust Sexual Health Service used feedback from partners and the public to make it easier to translate the Lets Talk About It website into different languages.
This change is hoped to benefit residents and professionals locally. The site has lots of useful information about sexual and reproductive health, including information about local services.
There is also a professionals section of the site to support the wider workforce. To view the changes, visit: Lets Talk About It.
Green Football Weekend has arrived! |
|
|
This weekend is Green Football Weekend across the country, where all professional teams (including Pompey and our home fixture against Northampton) will be promoting ways of helping the environment and looking towards a greener future.
Between now and the 7 February, you, your pupils and the wider school community can also get involved with making a pledge to take climate action and/or complete and upload pictures of fun challenges via Planet League.
These can be as simple as learning some vegetarian and vegan recipes, showing you using a reusable water bottle or making a meat free meal! It also adds a competitive element, as every challenge completed can count as a 'goal' for Portsmouth FC in the Planet League standings.
For more information, visit the Green Football Weekend website.

Loss and Bereavement Support and Network |
|
|
As part of the Inclusion Outreach Service, Lucy Lynch from Craneswater School provides support, signposting and networking opportunities for school staff, around loss and bereavement. This includes a Bereavement and Loss Network.
As network lead, Lucy coordinates the meetings for loss and bereavement champions across Portsmouth schools. They meet approximately four times per year at Craneswater Junior School from 2pm-3.30pm. The team includes many services from across the city, alongside other agencies such as Public Health, Simon Says, Winston's Wish and Sue Ryder.
It provides networking and signposting when schools have a loss or death and need some advice in managing the situation or providing a way forward for the child involved. This network brings together ELSAs and other colleagues who have received training as Loss Champions.
The network provides a forum to share practice and resources. It also provides a supportive group for staff who may be working in relative isolation in their own setting. If you would like further information, or to join the network please contact Lucy llynch@craneswater.portsmouth.sch.uk

Let's get everyone thanking school superheroes |
|

Thanks to your efforts, even more primary and secondary school staff are being recognised for going above and beyond in our community. However, there are still schools who don't have any thank you messages at all.
We need all primary and secondary schools to pull together and include information in email newsletters and on social media to encourage families and colleagues to get involved. Please use the text below with a link to our website to say thank you.
Thank you messages will be shared with schools alongside other goodies in June 2024.
