Trauma-informed eLearning for adults and children's staff |
|
|
Trauma and adverse life events are extremely common and can have a long-lasting effect on someone's physical, emotional and social functioning. Understanding the impact of trauma is everyone's business, which is why we are offering free, online eLearning on this important subject. The course is aimed at staff and volunteers who provide support services to children, young people, families and adults.
This trauma-informed care eLearning is made up of seven short modules which can be taken one at a time, in total the training takes around an hour to complete in your own time.
The training will help you to understand:
- What is trauma
- Understanding the impact of trauma and how it presents
- How to detect and respond to it effectively
- How to work in a trauma-informed way
- How to look after yourself when supporting a traumatised individual
The eLearning is available on the Portsmouth Safeguarding Children Partnership website (you will need to log in or easily create an account to access the course).
