Mountjoy has started draining the pool at Hilsea Lido, so that a structural survey can be conducted.
The pool survey is an important step in understanding the condition of the pool tank and will inform the refurbishment works needed to bring the pool up to a good condition.

Over the past few months, our partners Sustrans and Seekers have been engaging with the community on our behalf to discover improvements for Foxes Forest, and to make Hilsea Lines more accessible and better-connected with walking and cycling routes to connect the east and west to the circular routes around Portsea Island.
To get the community involved and share their experiences and memories of the area, we've held:
- Three 'walk-shops' at Foxes Forest
- Workshops at Anchorage Park, Cosham and Hilsea community centres
- Events to capture people's opinions in Cosham High St, Mountbatten Leisure Centre, Highbury Primary School, Gatcombe Park Primary School, King's Academy Northern Parade Primary School and at Casemates Studio
We also had online activities for people to get involved 'virtually', which are still accessible:
We've engaged with 70 people at Foxes Forest and over 200 people at other events, from ages six to over 60, from diverse backgrounds including those with disabilities, refugees and local groups including:
- Portsmouth Forest School
- Volunteer rangers
- Horizon Disabled Anglers
- Run Walk Local Portsmouth
- Ageing UK
- MAKE
- Dynamite
- Tea over Chai
We're using the findings from our co-discover stage to help plan the next phase of the project, our co-design stage, from May - July 2023.
Our monthly sports and leisure bulletin will keep you up to date with all things active!
Receive the latest information on projects including King George V football hub and Bransbury Park leisure centre as well as regular updates from BH Live and much more.
