Family Support (FSP) approach to practice |
|
|
The Family Support (FSP) approach to practice is now live and training is available to support practice development. Family Support is the updated approach to delivering early help to families at tier 2 (Portsmouth threshold).
The aim of Family Support is to:
- Family Support (tier 2 PSCP threshold document), is to ensure children and families receive support as soon as possible when an issues arises (we used to/still call this early help).
- Family Support can be provided by anyone working with the child or family.
- Family Support will usually prevent escalation to targeted early help (tier 3) which is for more complex issues.
- Family Support reflects our citywide relational and restorative approach to working with families to meet needs.
- The Family Support Plan (the form) is a summary for you and the family of the conversation and actions.
A short film is available to explain Family Support to families.
PSCP has training available to support practice development, including a masterclass on embedding the FSP into practice.
PSCP plan to launch an online portal for the recording and monitoring of FSPs in 2023, but at present completed support plans should be sent to FSP@portsmouthcc.gov.uk for recording purposes.
If you have any queries, please email FSP@portsmouthcc.gov.uk.
