The early years team are currently working on the new sufficiency assessment and would love to hear your thoughts on the current climate and how you are being affected. The following questions are just a guide. You can email into eydelivery@portsmouthcc.gov.uk either answering the questions below or telling us in your own words any struggles you may be having. The sufficiency assessment is available on our website when completed and used as a discussion point by Councillors and the Local Authority to try and work to improve the situation and to share with the DfE and Ofsted to make them aware of any local issues.

  • Do you have any vacancies for new starters in your setting?
  • Are you worried about your future sufficiency with the pressures from the cost-of-living crisis? If so, please give details.
  • Are you struggling to recruit new staff?
  • What is your biggest worry currently?
  • What are your biggest pressure points financially?
  • Do you have a message for us to share with the DfE about sufficiency?
  • Are there any barriers that prevent you as a provider from supporting parents with children with additional needs/SEND in securing a place?

Please email us with your response by the 20 November 2022.

Thank you,

The Early Years Team
