Youth Endowment Fund survey of young people

Action icon

The Youth Endowment Fund is currently running a survey of teenage children’s experience of violence to get a clearer picture of the way that violence impacts children. The survey is aimed at young people aged 13 to 17 and closes on Friday 17 June 2022.

How does the survey handle questions about violence?
Some of the questions ask young people about their individual experiences of crime and violence. This includes sexual assault, though no explicit language or explanations are used. None of the questions are compulsory and the young person can refuse to answer the survey, as well as skip or ‘prefer not to answer’ all questions except basic demographic information (age, gender, region). For certain questions, they will be asked explicitly whether they want to answer the question before they see the detail of it.

Links to support and help services are provided at the beginning and end of the survey.

If you have any questions, please Madeline.Rolfe@crestadvisory.com.

Action

Through support from the Hornpipe Theatre Company, Dance Live! is able to offer £500 bursaries to Portsmouth and Isle of Wight schools (any PO postcode is able to apply), to support your entry into Dance Live! 2023. The £500 bursary must contribute to your Dance Live! entry, but it could support any of the following areas:

  • Participant fees
  • Costume materials
  • Transport costs to the event
  • Subsidise performance tickets for families/friends
  • Hair and make up

You do not need to have officially registered yet in order to apply, as we understand that some schools’ entry could be dictated by the funding. However you must have officially entered prior to any funding being transferred. Should your school subsequently withdraw from the event for any reason, the school will be required to give back the grant.

To be considered for a grant, please complete the online form. It should not take longer than 10 minutes to complete, but will ask for percentages of students eligible for pupil premium and free school meals. Deadline for applications is 5pm, Monday 11 July 2022. You will be notified within two weeks if your application has been successful.

If you have not yet registered for Dance Live! you can find more information via the Portsmouth Guildhall website.
