Locality multi-agency team (MAT) network meetings

Event

Locality MATs network meetings continue to be run monthly in each locality for an hour via Microsoft Teams. Thank you to everyone that has taken the time to attend and present at the meetings. There has and continues to be some very useful information shared that equips us to better support Portsmouth families.

Every month there continues to be updates from health services, early help, social care, the Police, along with guest speakers sharing information about their services.

In May and June, we have presentations that will include:

  • Victoria MacFarlane: the neurodiversity programme
  • Charlie Pericleous from Prevent: identifying people who may be vulnerable to radicalisation or getting involved in extremism and how to protect them from harm
  • Kara Lambert and Paula Smith (positive family employment coordinators): support available for families
  • Duke Of Edinburgh Award: opportunities for the young people we are working with.

Please email EarlySupportReferralPanel@portsmouthcc.gov.uk if you wish to attend or present at these meetings.

Teach Portsmouth Awards 2022

Teach Portsmouth recently contacted colleagues in schools and colleges to make them aware of a campaign to recognise their achievements outside of 10 award categories. The 'Teach Portsmouth celebrates' campaign launches on Monday 16 May - Friday 27 May. Last year, schools and colleges across the city recognised their staff by sharing images and videos of their teams on social media using the #TeachPortsmouthCelebrates.

If you are interested in your school or college participating in the Teach Portsmouth celebrates campaign, please email teachportsmouth@portsmouthcc.gov.uk before Friday 13 May 2022.

We're asking colleagues to see how they could integrate the theme of success in to their current events and activities that you have planned. You might be doing something for the Queen's Jubilee or recognising your school/college in other ways. For more information, visit the Teach Portsmouth celebrates page today!

LA updates

May school census - Thursday 19 May 2022

If you are a local authority school, the deadline for the May school census is Thursday 26 May 2022. Please ensure that you meet this deadline to enable the detailed post-census data checking reports to be created and sent back to you. These reports will help you to validate your data to ensure its accuracy. If you cannot submit on time, please contact us ASAP. Academies that purchase EIS SLA, please send a copy of your school census to the LA via SSE and inform us by emailing education.informationservices@portsmouthcc.gov.uk when you have done so.

All schools must have an approved return on COLLECT by Wednesday 15 June 2022. Please be aware that DfE may still require your school to make changes to your census after this date.

A familiarisation blade is currently available for schools to check that the required data is being passed from your MIS to COLLECT and if any validation errors or queries are generated against your school's data. This blade will close at 4pm on Friday 13 May 2022. The DfE has issued guidance stating that if uptake of the familiarisation blade continues to be low, they will be looking to undertake a consultation about the future of the familiarisation blade service.

Please call 023 9284 1001 or email education.informationservices@portsmouthcc.gov.uk for further information.
