We've had a major funding boost of £38m from the Environment Agency.
The funding will secure our future in delivering essential coastal defence works. It comes in addition to more than £100m granted before construction of the Scheme got underway in 2020. Read more.

Rock on!
Rock will start arriving onshore near Southsea Castle next week.
Our team in Norway is undertaking rock testing in the Larvik Quarry, weighing a sample of rocks to ensure the rock grading matches the specification required for our new flood defences. The rock will arrive by barge from March to September 2022 on a weekly basis, averaging 5,500 tonnes per week. Read more.

Wrecking the revetment
We're having a smashing time!
It's exciting to see the first stage of work taking place on the revetment (sloped flood defence wall) at the site around Southsea Castle. We're removing the existing defences so that we can place the new rock armour (arriving week commencing 7 March), stretching 25m out to sea.

Doubled up
The new defence walls are progressing well.
The second row of pre-cast Purbeck limestone units have been installed, starting at the far western end of the site and working east. Smaller, plain units will sit on top of these to complete the wall. It's going to look great!
