Rock around the clock

Rock work

Our rock work at Frontage 1 (Long Curtain Moat) is nearing completion.

We'd like to give a big thank you to nearby residents and businesses for their patience as we've worked with the tides, sometimes outside of normal working hours. The rock has now been placed around the Spur Redoubt and only needs linking up with the rocks we put into position earlier this year.

Welcome one and all

We've had a great time greeting visitors to our Project Information Centre this week - what a success it's been!

Thanks for coming down to see us - especially those who braved the rain. The entry to the centre is via the gate at the seafront end of our site offices at Pier Road, Southsea – just follow the signs on the blue hoardings. We're open from 10am-2pm (Mon, Tues, Fri); 9am-1pm (Wed) and 12 noon-4pm (Thurs) so please drop in and say hello if you're in the area.

Under pressure!

On the seaward Long Curtain Moat wall, the existing handrail is being removed in readiness for high pressured water demolition of the capping beam (beam along the top of a wall).

This week’s concrete pour to the capping beam at the eastern end of the wall links up to Clarence Pier in time for winter. More concrete pours continue with the capping beam along the promenade. Next up are the eastern egress steps.

Art alert

Join us from 6-13 November for an art exhibition at The D-Day Story, Southsea.

From 10am-4pm, the ‘A Collaborative Arts Plan for Southsea and Portsmouth’ exhibition will demonstrate how public art might be incorporated into the Southsea Coastal Scheme, as well as showcasing the design for the next phase of the Scheme at Frontage 4 - Southsea Castle.
