A message from the port director

Quarantine restrictions to be eased

Arrivals

Following the government's announcement that quarantine restrictions will be relaxed from 10 July, port director Mike Sellers has a message for our customers:

“Today’s government announcement to remove quarantine restrictions from next Friday for arrivals from France, Spain, and other countries, will be welcome news across the ports industry.

“Combined with the restart of Brittany Ferries's passenger services to France and Spain from  Portsmouth, this means we are ready to get back  to what we're good at doing  – giving customers the best possible experience as they start their trips.

“We understand there’s a real appetite to take a short break this summer, with 50% wanting to getaway according to the latest research.

“This means holiday makers travelling by sea not only have the confidence that they’re using one of most appropriate modes of transport to help manage social distancing, but they also do not have to worry about a lengthy quarantine period afterwards.

“As a port we are working closely with our partners to help welcome back passengers in a safe, sensible and managed way.

“Our terminal has been reconfigured to manage a one way flow, and we’re fortunate to have spacious, modern facilities, giving protection for our customers and staff.

"Before you travel always follow the government's foreign office advice to make sure you understand entry requirements for your destination as this is a rapidly changing picture."

Brittany Ferries adding more destinations

Bretagne

Brittany Ferries started a return to scheduled passenger services earlier this week, with ships to Caen, Bilbao and Santander. A further two ships covering Cherbourg, Le Havre and St. Malo will resume services throughout July. Further information is available on their booking portal.

The health and wellbeing of all onboard, both passengers and crew, continues to be their top priority as global travel resumes. Their teams have been tirelessly working on measures to ensure the health and safety of all sailing over the coming weeks and months.

Find out more about the measures they are taking over on their website.

New shop now open

ceanos

Now that passenger services are up and running, our new store in the terminal building is open.

The Ceanos convenience store sells a wide range of travel essentials, alongside drinks, snacks & hot beverages. Opening times are currently arranged around passenger sailings.

You can access the shop through the southern entrance to the terminal. The rest of the terminal is currently closed, with toilet facilities available next to the car queuing lanes. These are subject to a enhanced cleaning regime to ensure safety.
