Your views on clean air charges

We're facing the prospect of the government imposing a clean air zone on Portsmouth, with charges for certain types of cars, vans, taxis and HGVs. This is because the city has an air pollution problem, affecting people's health. We're seeking the views of residents and businesses. Survey ends 4 July.

Free staff training

You could get free apprenticeship training for a new or existing employee. If you’re a business in the city and have an annual payroll of under £3m, apply for funding from the council now. The money can be for new employees or current staff who are looking to boost their skills.

The Solent LEP is holding a series of sessions on business challenges. The latest, Driving Growth and Productivity Through Innovation, is on 2 July, with the University of Portsmouth, and looks at support available to innovative companies to help them realise their ambitions.

Stanhope Rd work 

Drivers in the city centre might experience delays in July. From Monday 8 July to Wednesday 9 July, Stanhope Road will be closed from 6am to 6pm, with diversions in place, as part of construction of a new Travelodge. There will also be parking restrictions on the road.
