Special creative industries event
 We're holding a free event to celebrate cultural and creative industries in the city on 31 January at the Guildhall. Cllr Steve Pitt will talk about the importance of the sector for the region's economic growth and Prof Trevor Keeble from the University of Portsmouth will talk about the positive impact of students remaining in the city and starting their own creative businesses. There'll also be keynote speakers from successful international creative film, design and music industries who will be discussing future challenges and how we shape growth in the city in the years to come.
Shaping Portsmouth Conference
 As we prepared this bulletin there were just a handful of tickets still available for the Shaping Portsmouth Conference at the Guildhall on 18 January. Guest speakers and panel discussions will look at topics such as supporting the community, the Roadmap to a Career programme, and celebrating the city's volunteers. There will also be a roundup of what Shaping Portsmouth has been up to from director Stef Nienaltowski, an update from Deputy Council Leader Cllr Steve Pitt, and the presentation of the Shaping Portsmouth Awards.
