35 arrests made in first three months of extra £1.1M anti-social behaviour hotspot patrols
Over 2,757 hours of police patrols, and 1,400 hours of Community Safety Partnership patrols, have now been delivered in eleven anti-social behaviour hotspots which received investment from the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner in July.
In July the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex announced an extra investment of £1.1 million in high-visibility patrols and targeted intervention to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB) in eleven hotspots across the county.
The nine-month operation by Essex Police and Community Safety Partnerships (CSP) has seen a strong commitment to high visibility patrols, public reassurance, and pursuit of ASB.
PFCC Team hosts Independent Custody Visitors at regional conference
Last Saturday (21st October 2023) the Essex Police. Fire and Crime Commissioner team hosted the Independent Custody Scheme Regional Conference at the Hamptons in Chelmsford.
Independent Custody Visitors (ICVs) are members of the local community who volunteer to visit police stations unannounced to check on the treatment and welfare of people held in police custody.
At the conference attendees representing schemes from all around the eastern region were able to take part in workshops, share best practice and hear from a lived experience speaker.
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service (ECFRS) is celebrating International Control Room Week by highlighting the extraordinary work the Service’s Control Room Operators do every single day.
Since the beginning of the year, ECFRS Control Room Operators have answered over 12,000 calls from the public. With each call, not knowing the outcome and trying their best to reassure and help the person on the end of the line.
It’s not just calls the team deal with, they also dispatch crews to incidents and move resources around the county to make sure all areas are covered.
