Violence and Vulnerability Community Grant opens for applications
Organisations across Southend, Essex and Thurrock are once again invited to apply for the Violence and Vulnerability Community Grant 2024 – 25 to fund projects that have a positive impact on the issues around serious violence.
Local organisations are at the forefront of some amazing work that seeks to address issues such as knife harm, gangs, drugs, exploitation and lack of youth provision, and we are keen to support this work as much as we can.
Our 2024-2025 V&V Community Grant is open to applications from local ‘not-for-profit’ voluntary or community clubs, or organisations based in, and therefore delivering in, Essex, Southend and Thurrock.

Residents urged to complete countywide Community Safety Survey
A new Community Safety Survey to identify priorities to help tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in Essex has been launched.
The 13 Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs) in Essex, working under the umbrella group Safer Essex, have developed the survey to help identify the impacts of crime and anti-social behaviour in the county.
This is the first time a single online survey is available for Essex and it will allow residents to not only respond about where they live, but also where they work or study in Essex, helping to create a complete countywide overview.

Rural Crime: a message from Kemi Badenoch, MP for the Saffron Walden Constituency
“I understand that rural crime can have a huge impact on our communities, and I want to know if you have been affected. Too often rural crime goes unreported and we need accurate information to help reduce it across our constituency. Please take a few moments of your time to complete my survey and share your concerns.”
