Deputy Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner attends Essex County Fire and Rescue Service People Awards

Essex County Fire and Rescue service celebrated the hard work and efforts of its people at a special awards ceremony on the 30th of March. The event, which was held at Hylands House in Chelmsford, commended firefighters for their bravery and support staff were recognised for the roles that they play in keeping people safe. 

Jane Gardner, Deputy, Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner said: "Attending events like the Celebrating People Awards are one of the highlights of my role. Recognising the outstanding contribution, the dedication and innovation of colleagues, partners and volunteers serves to highlight the amazing people who help make Essex a safer place for us all. Congratulations and thank you to all those who were nominated.”

Home Office funding secures future of Essex VVU

 

The Essex Violence and Vulnerability Partnership was awarded over £5 million from the Home Office to continue its fight against drug driven violence, county lines and knife crime.

This funding, distributed across the next three years, not only guarantees the continuation of the Violence and Vulnerability programme over this period but is a large increase on previous funding acknowledging the success of the work underway across Essex.

This funding has also been generously boosted for 2022 / 23 by contributions of £500k from Essex County Council and £600k from the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex as announced in their budgets in February.

Violence Against Women and Girls Action Plan 

 

The Association of Police and Crime Commissioners have published its Violence Against Women and Girls Action Plan 2022-23. 

The ambitious plan sets out how Police and Crime Commissioners are working with partner agencies, victims and the wider community to end violence against women and girls. It includes 16 priority actions and key deliverables that PCC's will take forward to tackle the epidemic of VAWG. 

Police and Crime Commissioners are challenging the system to do better and driving positive change through the delivery of high-quality commissioned services to protect women and girls  though prevention, challenging offending behaviour and where crime does occur delivery of vital victim and survivor support.

Essex County Fire and Rescue Service are looking for an Education and Specialist Intervention Manager! 

They are looking for a dynamic individual to lead, review and develop their education programme, to continue their ambition of profoundly improving the outcomes and life experiences of children and young adults.

This role will be perfect for you if you have experience in leading and managing teams and projects with a natural inclination towards collaborative working and extensive stakeholder engagement. You will need to have proven managerial and leadership experience ideally within the sector and have a track record of delivering successful change management.
