Eden Rivers Trust - Community Tree Nursery
Get involved with the Eden River Trust's Community Tree Nursery project!
There are regular sessions at the tree nursery – usually Tuesday afternoons and Friday mornings – for growing native trees from seed or cuttings and looking after all the plants.
The Eden River Trust are still developing the site itself so there is always a bit of digging or building for anyone who likes to flex their muscles and there are also special features to set up to enhance sustainability and support wildlife and community use at the plot.
We’ve worked hard to make the site as accessible as possible and you don’t need any experience or special skills to join in – just come and say hello when we’re there or get in touch with Jenni Payne at volunteers@edenrt.org, call 01768 866788 or visit the Eden Rivers Trust website for more information.
Why not come along for the ride? Perhaps you’ll discover a skill or passion you never knew you had!

PACT: Harm or Heal? Food, Ecology, Climate and Us
Harm or Heal? Food, Us, Ecology and the Planet is a talk about the connections between soil health, our health and the health of the planet.
It explores some of the many connections that have come to light in recent years, that give us a fresh perspective on our place within the complex web of nature. These findings also reveal measures we can take to improve the health of everything we care about. Our growing understanding of the interconnections within and between ecosystems can help us to better protect and restore the living world and increase our own ‘health-span', in ways that will naturally lead to greater equality and healthier communities.
As much of the complexity and interconnectedness of nature is invisible to us, the talk uses images and analogies to illustrate how remarkably entwined all life is. It will give everyone food for thought and may be the start of a journey that will last a lifetime.
Thursday 12th September 2024 7pm - 8:30pm Penrith Library, St Andrew's Churchyard To book call 01768 812100 or follow the link to Eventbrite
