Penrith Players: Maybe Dick
Herman Melville's classic tale of revenge and retribution is retold in this inventive, comic retelling on the high seas from the company behind‘ Just Like That! The Tommy Cooper Show’ and ‘Dracula! One Bloody Fang After Another’.
Nantucket, 1841. Ishmael signs on to the Pequod, and witnesses the perils of nature, obsession, punning and physical comedy, as Captain Ahab conducts a reckless pursuit of the savage white whale, Moby Dick.
All plot will be lampooned. All jokes will be harpooned.

Meet the Author: Lost in the Lakes
We are super excited for our first author event of 2024 which starts with Tom Chesshyre talking about his book Lost in the Lakes and hearing about his tales of a Lakeland Adventure Like no other. Exploring towering mountains, wide open valleys and magnificent Lakes and popping in to one or two cosy inns along the 379 mile hike around the Lakes.
We are also pleased to announce that Hedgehog Books will be joining us if you would like to buy the book after the talk to continue the adventure!
Free Event. Doors will be open and refreshments will be served from 630pm onwards.

Meet the author: Three Dads Walking
Find out about more from the Three Dads Walking about their new book built around personal diary entries grown from a place of great grief and loss but also about the power of speaking out, of friendship, hope and blisters!

Rheged: Great Print 9
Now in its 9th year, this celebration of Printmaking is one of the leading exhibitions of its kind in the UK.
A blend of 60 Printmakers with over 1,000 original artworks to choose from.
The exhibition reflects the broad spectrum of printing techniques, including woodblock, linocut, etching, screenprint and collagraph, focusing on unusual and different ways printing can be used. A curated area explores the use of printing techniques in collage, printing onto fabrics, paper, ceramics, and even mirror shards.
Friday 8th December 2023 to Sunday 3rd March 2024.

Fellfoot Radio live
Join us for a special live Fellfoot Radio event at the Eden Valley Artistic Network (EVAN) gallery in Penrith.
- Venue: Eden Valley Artistic Network Gallery, 4 Corney Place, Penrith, CA11 7PX
- Date and time: 24 February 2024, 12:00pm - 17:00pm.
This special five hour live event will feature interviews with artists and ecologists, residents who have taken part in the project, sounds of the landscape, and possibly some musical performances, live poetry, and storytelling.
If you’d like to be interviewed, share a live performance, or request some tunes, please email us or simply turn up on the day and tell us. You can perform a tune or a poem, tell us a story, or share something of your life lived in the Fellfoot Forward landscape live on air.
To attend the live broadcast, drop into EVAN gallery any time between 12pm to 5pm. If you can’t make the event, be sure to listen in from wherever you are.

Plug & Play presents The Clifford Movement plus open mic
Inspired by Lady Anne's gumption, The Clifford Movement, that’s June Swift, Gwen Bainbridge, Rich Evans and Peter Michael Rowan bring you stories, songs, poems and puppets with projections, celebrating the lives and landscape of the Eden Valley.
The Clifford Movement strive to create innovative ways to tell the tales of folk from the past who lived, loved, worked and played in Cumbria. Travel back in time with them as they unravel the mysteries of the forgotten heroes of our green and pleasant land.

Stomping Ground - Outside Club at Pategill Park
The Outside Club is back at Pategill Park!
Play games, climb trees, make cool things and make dens!
Stomping Ground will be running sessions every Tuesday from now until December for children and young people (8-12) in the Pategill Community.
Come along and check it out!
Art&Design Saturday Club at The Studio Morland
Art&Design Saturday Club at The Studio Morland is a free weekly art class for seriously creative 13–16-year-olds who live in Eden, Cumbria.
During the sessions you will be guided by pros and supported by student mentors aged 17-18 to create impressive pieces of art while building up your creative portfolio, honing specialist skills that aren’t available on the school curriculum.
Got a dream of something you want to create or make? Saturday Club will be the place! Sessions will be entirely shaped by you – our studio space is large and airy, perfect for art big and small. In 2022 we built giant willow lanterns and in 2023 we experimented with fused glass art – we’re excited to see what Art Club in 2024 will bring!
At the Club, we will work towards being a part of the National Saturday Club exhibition in London, creating something together to be exhibited – a huge opportunity. Club members will also take part in national events including Masterclasses with leading industry professionals.

Happy Mums Foundation
The Happy Mums Foundation run a Penrith support group Wednesdays at St Andrews Parish Rooms between 9:30 - 10:30.
The support group is a safe space for mums to share how they are really feeling and hear words of support from those who have been in similar situations. Group helpers and toys are on hand to keep the little ones entertained!

Get involved with Ramblers Wellbeing Walks!
Ramblers Wellbeing Walks are short group walks making it easier to start walking and stay active.
Walks aim to be suitable for people of all ages and abilities and our leaders will ensure that you walk at a pace that you find comfortable.
Make new friends and start a new hobby!

Our Cumbria Photography Competition
Calling all keen Penrith-based photographers! Eden Valley Hospice would love to see some photographs of Penrith/Eden/north Lakes entered into their 'Our Cumbria' photography competition!
The photography competition is returning for a third year with amateur and professional photographers being invited to submit photos which will later be selected a judging panel and used on Eden Valley Hospice products such as calendars and Christmas cards.
Eden Valley Hospice want to see the very best the county has to offer in our next set of Christmas products, and they are calling on YOU to provide this stunning imagery.
The competition will close on the 8th of March with winners announced soon after. You can find out more and submit your photos on the Eden Valley Hospice website.

Penrith Park Run
Penrith Park Run is a free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event at Frenchfield! Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it's up to you!
It's completely free to join, just register before you first come along. You only ever need to register with parkrun once. Don't forget to bring a printed copy of your barcode. If you forget it, you won't get a time.
If you would like to bake and bring along a cake please bring a list of ingredients for allergy information. There will be the usual teas, coffees and hot chocolate as well.
This Saturday will be Penrith Park Run's 10th birthday!
