There's just one week left to have your say on our 20mph Speed Limit Zones Survey.
We have received a number of applications to designate areas in Penrith as 20mph zones and are now required by Westmorland and Furness Council to show the support of residents before submitting them.
Applications have been received to designate the following areas:
- Beacon Edge from the mini roundabout adjoining Salkeld Rd to the end of the 40mph zone
- Castletown including from Brunswick Rd roundabout, over the bridge, the B5288, Norfolk Rd, Holyoake Terrace, Newton Rd to Gilwilly Industrial Estate roundabout
- Castletown – Mill St, Brougham St, Howard St, James St, Alexandra Rd, York St, Cross St, Howard St, Oxford Close, Mill Terrace, Bridge St, Newlands Place, Norfolk Place, Balmoral Close, Windsor Drive, Greystoke Rd, Greystoke park Rd, Greystoke park Ave, Cookson Court, Greystoke Close, Berkley Court, Musgrave St, Hillcrest

If these areas affect you or someone you know please share so that we can get views back. We need to know a) whether you do or don’t support a 20mph zone in the area proposed and b) the reasons for this.
