Adult Water Polo - Penrith Swimming Club
Score in the water with NEW Adult Water Polo sessions starting Friday 19 January 2024! Open to individuals aged 16+. No experience needed!
Join our dedicated community for the thrill of water polo in a supportive environment.
When: Fridays (starting 19 January 2024) 20:15 - 21:15
Followed by social dancing/ practice room (downstairs) until 8.20pm
7.30pm: Level 1 Lindy Hop course (Lake Room- upstairs)
8.20pm: Social dancing (all levels)
8.45pm: Level 2 Lindy Hop course
A course for dancers who have some previous experience of Lindy Hop or have completed our three beginner courses. We will focus on core Lindy Hop moves such as swing outs, Lindy circles, baskets and pass by variations. Gain confidence and skills for social dancing.
To join this class you need to be comfortable with 6 count and 8 count footwork plus pass bys. We also recommend more experienced dancers taking this class.
If you are feeling a little in need of fun fitness after the Christmas break, why not join Netball Now at the Penrith Leisure Centre every Wednesday between 8pm - 9pm!
Meet in the general area near the gym, for an energy boosting and fun session. Loose clothing and trainers are all you need.

Penrith Park Run
Penrith Park Run is a free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event at Frenchfield! Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it's up to you!
It's completely free to join, just register before you first come along. You only ever need to register with parkrun once. Don't forget to bring a printed copy of your barcode. If you forget it, you won't get a time.
Now in its 9th year, this celebration of Printmaking is one of the leading exhibitions of its kind in the UK.
A blend of 60 Printmakers with over 1,000 original artworks to choose from.
The exhibition reflects the broad spectrum of printing techniques, including woodblock, linocut, etching, screenprint and collagraph, focusing on unusual and different ways printing can be used. A curated area explores the use of printing techniques in collage, printing onto fabrics, paper, ceramics, and even mirror shards.

Marmalade makers get ready, the 2024 Dalemain World Marmalade Awards are open for entry!
The World Marmalade Awards take place on 20th April and are a celebration of all things marmalade with thousands of jars throughout Dalemain Mansion, Q&As, demonstrations, tastings and much more.
The awards are now open for entries until Monday 5th February - download an entry form online and cook up some delicious ideas for the judges to taste. Good luck!
Activities for Families & Children
Fellfoot Forward hedge planting
We are inviting families and volunteers to join us at Blunderfield Farm, Kirkoswald, helping to connect the landscape through planting hedges. As well as getting some fresh air and exercise, you’ll also be helping to bolster local wildlife, using a diverse hedge mix to boost the farm’s biodiversity as well as create vital habitat highways for wildlife.
The event will run from 10am to approximately 2.30pm on Saturday 13 January 2024 and volunteers are welcome to join for all or part of the day. Suitable for all ages, under 16s must be supervised by adults.
Please bring clothing appropriate for the day’s weather, which is likely to require warm, waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear. Work gloves and tools will be provided. Hot drinks and snacks will be provided but please bring lunch, snacks and a flask for hot drinks. Booking is essential.

Conservation day at Eycott Hill Nature Reserve
Come help the conservation of a wonderful upland nature reserve where newly created and restored habitats are showing through. Involves a variety of practical tasks.

Penrith Repair Cafe aims to fix your broken items and save them from landfill. At the same time, you'll learn new skills from the brilliant volunteer repairers who can fix electricals, garden tools, ornaments and also tackle clothing and textile repairs! This is all carried out free of charge, but donations are appreciated.
There is also a cafe with delicious home made cake and drinks, which is also free!
The Repair Cafe runs on the second Saturday of each month - so 13 January - from 10am - 1pm at the Old Fire Station on Bridge Lane.
